Growth Rate of Cornish-Cross Chickens

I am looking to bring a pen of 2 Cornish-Cross Chickens to the fair this year and I was just wondering how fast they would grow. They need to be a least 5lb each. What date do I need to purchase my chicks by.

Check with your fair rules, many have specific ages that the broilers must meet to qualify to show at the fair. In the case of our county fair the birds must be between 5 and 8 weeks of age.

Our fair rules just state that they must be born after January 1st and a minimum of 5lb.

I'd plan on them being around 7-8 weeks at time of fair, so adjust accordingly from whenever your fair is.
