Grrr need a new fishing reel/rod..

My wonderful son broke my rod so I bought a new rod/reel to use the rod and give the kids the reel, I then find out he broke my reel. I hate my new reel/rod as it was just a cheep set. My other reel was a bait cast which I loved, but I'm not sure I would go with a rhino one next time. What is the best rod/reel on the market? We have a sportsmen show in a few months and soo can't wait.
