Grunting Chicken

Hello,

Hoping someone here has an idea what my chicken may be doing. We have a 3 year old Americana, who up until now has been very healthy. Yesterday she was seen standing up, grunting, and seemingly panting while laying an egg. Other than this strange new egg laying behaviour, she seems perfectly fine..scratching for bugs, taking dirt baths, .running around doing other chicken-y things. Now, i know it's not the heat most of the US is suffering, because we are barely making it to 60 degrees F in Washington. What could be her trouble though?

It sounds like she could be going broody as long as she is eating drinking and fine in herself then i would not worry
