Ive been browsing the forums for around the last 6 months, it has helped me create my coop and run, expand my run, and treat my ladies to special items. Yes, I am a 6 month old chicken owner, in south Texas. I CURRENTLY have 29 birds that were purchased in 2 groups 2 months apart. I cant remember which breed of birds I have anymore, will have to add that later when my better half is around, she keeps track. After 6 months ive learned a lot also with trial and error, or it seems if you watch the birds as much as I, one can start to know when they are acting odd and see that something needs to be changed, like add more stuff for them to do and such.

You are right on the money. Good animal husbandry is based on knowledge and observation. A true husbandman spots trouble before it starts by the minor behavioral changes in his/her animals.
