Guess that duckling

I have two ducklings that I hatched a few days ago… Pippin and Puddles. I found both of these eggs at work (it’s by a creek where ducks are). The one on the left is Pippin and I am pretty sure she is Rouen/Mallard. That is all I have ever seen at the creek. I was surprised when Puddles hatched and was all brown. What kind of duck do you think puddles is? Khaki Campbell?

Thank you! That’s what I was thinking. Just have never actually seen a Khaki

That is interesting that you would find a khaki campbell egg, but maybe people dump domestic ducks there - which is sad.

If you don’t mind me asking… why is that interesting to find a khaki campbell egg? Just wondering… I am new to the duck world.

They aren't a wild breed. They are a domestic duck. They also don't fly (far) so someone most likely dropped the duck there.

Oh ok I see what you mean. Well the ducks at the creek are honestly at least partly domesticated I would say. They live there. They have been there for years. There are probably about 10-15 of them total. The last couple of months they have been laying eggs EVERYWHERE! I found a few in the parking lot and took them home and what do ya know. still… I don’t think I have ever seen a khaki in the mix Who knows
