I have 2 Billy goats both 7 months old. I got them both at 3 months old. 1 is a pygmy named Rex, Steve the other I am not sure of, I think possibly a Toggenburg cross. When I first got them they where both pretty much the same size with Steve being slightly larger.

Now they are both 7 months old and the difference in size is very apparent. Rex weighs approx. 20pds and Steve about 40. So what do you all think?

This is the day they first came home.

Your breed guesses are likely right. Without paperwork, or seeing the parents, one cannot truly know. The Rex does seem tiny for a seven month old Nigerian and/or Pygmy, unless he is from an incredibly slow growing like. What are they eating? Have they ever been wormed? Have they ever been given a coccidia preventative?

They get 2 cups Alfalfa pelets, a 1/2 cup of sweet feed and unlimited hay daily. They free graze daily around the property from 4-6 hours a day, weeds, trees, grass etc.. They have both been wormed twice now with Safeguard and they havnt had a preventative but their fecal sample was clear on coccidia.

Rex probably weighs more than 20# it was just a guess based on what he looks like. Both have normal stool's and shiny coats very active love to play with each other, good color etc.

I will see if I cant get a weight on him if I can get my daughter to hold him for me on the scales.

Definitely a much better weight! 20lbs for a seven month old Pygmy would have been very undersized. Good on getting fecals done, that is always important.
