Thanks for all the welcomes and words of beginning advice! All my mini flock are in the barn and having a good time; it's cold and rainy out, so I just made sure they have food and water and are letting them hang out til I finish some basic investigation stuff. Hubby will be home soon, and I'm sure working on making the area more poultry friendly.

Where in Michigan are you located? If you're not too far from Lansing, you are welcome to come join us at Michigan Chickenstock. I am going to my first one this year. I have heard it is a lot of fun and you get to meet a lot of chicken crazy people. It's a potluck and it's free. You just have to sign up so they know how many are attending.

We're about 10 minutes away from the lakeshore near the Holland area. Lots of Lake effect snow!

I'm definitely going to be studying keeping coops sufficiently warm and dry!
