Guess what I got today????

I went to our local exotic sale today and came home with 2 swans, a momma and baby. Ive always wanted some and I finally got some today. I was all excited.

I took 6 5 week old Onagadori chicks to the sale today and I came home with $123.00 for the 6 chicks, I was so shocked that they went for that much money.

Getting the swans and getting that much money for my chicks, made me one happy fellow today................

I would love to see pics!! I am thinking of getting some in the future. Is the Momma friendly? Please let me know how they act around you. I have been afraid that they may be too aggressive of a bird for me.

I have pics of the parents, but I cant get them uploaded on here for the life I me, trust me, I have tryed and tryed sooo many times, but i just cant get pics on here.

They are very nice friendly birds, they are NOT mean at all. My roos have about 2 to 3 foot long tails on them. I wish the hens had longer tails. I have a habit of not watching where I step and I end up stepping on their tails when I go into their pen. I have to watch where I step, so Im not stepping on them.

If someone wants to but pics on here for me, I'll send them to your home email and you can post them for me. ........

It just dawned on me you may have been talking about the swans and not the chickens.

I didnt get to bed lastnight til almost 2am and I tryed to get up at 5am to go to the sale, so Im down right tried.

I dont have pics of the swans yet. Will try to get some tomorrow, if the weather is nicer.

I was lucky with these swans, they are VERY friendly, they dont even know me and they allow me to walk up to them and pet them. The baby is as big as mom is and I have trouble telling them apart. They are mute swans, the big white ones. They make some pretty neat, but yet weird sounds/noises. Way different then ducks, geese or anything else that Ive heard.

Thanks, Im so happy with them. Ive wanted swans for so long, but never wanted to pay that "big" price for them. I got them pretty cheap, less then $100.00 for the both, which was a real big shocker, they were kind of a "rescue" thing/deal. They needed a good home because of whatever the reason and a friend of a friend called so and so and I heard about them. So a lady friend went and caught them for me and met me at the sale today. Im just glad to have em. They are really nice freindly birds...................
