at the start of spring we had Roxy the ISA, Harriette the Maran and Marylin the Sussex,

they had fun hanging out on the jungle gym Andrew made them...
and sharing their nesting box with Josie, a very confused cat who was convinced she was broody!

we soon realised what was missing, and before you could say 'build a brooder out of a paddling pool' we had fuzzy butts! can anyone tell which one is the Roo?

is it a roo, a hen, the guessing game began and continued for 12 weeks!

and the babies grew and grew
and learnt to sit at the kitchen door waiting for scraps

and the beans grew to 13 inches long with all that wonderful chicken manure!
