at the start of spring we had Roxy the ISA, Harriette the Maran and Marylin the Sussex,

they had fun hanging out on the jungle gym Andrew made them...

and sharing their nesting box with Josie, a very confused cat who was convinced she was broody!

we soon realised what was missing, and before you could say 'build a brooder out of a paddling pool' we had fuzzy butts! can anyone tell which one is the Roo?

is it a roo, a hen, the guessing game began and continued for 12 weeks!

Wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing, love your chickens... they look so happy.

Please feel free to send any extra beans this way... my garden was a total loss this year.

What a great post. How nice to see them grow up into goodlooking birds all in one post. I love the gray poofy head one. Is that a Polish?

She is supposed to be an Araucana, the ones here in Ireland look different from the ones I see in American pictures, so I am not sure. Hopefully she will lay blue eggs soon and the mystery will be solved. We never had baby chicks before so it was really great to see how much they change as they grow, and they are so tame! just like naughty children, into everything!
