........ a cortunix quail, and she is one cute broody. She runs away when I reach for the nest, but as soon as she notices that I am not after her she returns really quickly bobbing her head and and fluffing up etc. It is so cute to watch.

She is sitting on 8 eggs right now.

I hope they all hatch, that would be so cute to see a cortunix with babies.

I can't get my bobwhites to go broody no matter what I do but my cortunix who are the least likely to brood I can get broody......

I will post a pic soon.

awh that would be so cool if I can get a hen of mine to go broody as well.

this gives me hope because yes you're right that would be such a cute site!

I've seen a wild quail before running with a line of tiny fuzzy chicks following steadily behind her...CUTEST SIGHT IN THE WORLD...i'll never forget that. Before that, i never thought that cartoon depiction of how baby quails follow their mother was true, now i know it is.

Cortunix are not supposed to go broody at all(been bred out of them), I have never heard of anyone ever having a broody cortunix either.....

So no clue on how good of a mom they would be.
I guess we will see.

But my breeding trio lives in a 6meter by 3meter pen with dirt floor(it had grass too but the chickens kinda made sure that doesn't survive), she got broody in a corner.
Not the usual wire floor cage that cortunix usually are kept in.
