We do know the SLW for sure. The black ones we are not sure about. If they are sex links, what breeds would you guess?

I'm not too familiar with what goes into sex links. I believe blacks often have barred rock in them, but there are lots of different ones these days.

Sex links are not a breed. They are from certain crosses that produce birds that can be sexed at birth by color. Black sex links the female is black generally with some gold around the neck. Male black sex links are often barred similar to a Barred rock.

They have to be mixes of some breeds. We have narrowed it down to the more common hatchery mixes.

They are so friendly compared to the Wyandottes that we are inclined to think Australorp cross. They come when called and are very talkative.

All of my black sex links have black/ slate legs...almost looks like an australorp cross with the sheen but im no pro
