They are like guineas. Unless your Pearl Gray hens are carrying hidden recessive traits, your F1 generation offspring will all be Pearl Gray that are carrying the recessive partial dotting gene.

There is too little research to prove just what color genes cause the Royal Purple color. Most places claim that it is the same dominant Gray color gene that the Pearl Gray have. My Royal Purples are created by a Chocolate father and a Coral Blue mother so I do not believe that it is the dominant gray color gene. I am also not convinced that a Chocolate guinea is just buff color genes with a double dose of DSV (dark shade variance).
