I have 4 guineas that are about 5 months old. I know I have two females and I believe the other two are males. The two confirmed females are smaller and I've seen them both making the "buckwheat" call. The other two are bigger and I've seen one of them making the single note male call. These guineas have been raised with chickens straight from the feed store and are housed with my main flock. At least 1 of the larger guineas is often seen getting "rapey" with my chicken hens and pullets. His technique isn't very good yet and all he usually gets is a mouthful of feathers. Is this normal? Should I try moving the males into the pen with my cockerels to save the hens?

Well, young males will try to mount about anything.
I know nothing about guineas, but I'd not let that harassment continue.
Can a guinea even actually inseminate a chicken?
I hope they're not hung like ducks. :D

They have a phalis but it isn't functional. There have been hybrids between guineas and chickens.

No kidding? Iv'e had guineas before but had no clue about their buisness. Learn something everyday! You put them in with the cockerels yet?
I have read quiet a few of the guinea hybrid threads. There was a thread Chronicling the life of "Miracle" but I can't find it.
