My Coop
My Coop
I have designed a couple different coops for my guineas! Tell me what you thing about them and how they could be better!
Also if you have any plans that you have made up feel free to post them!

This coop would be for my free range flock for when I put them up for the winter.

This coop would be for my breeding stock and the barn would also be used as a mini hatchery for all of my keets that I am going to try to hatch and sell next season!

Please tell me any thoughts you have and if you have any cool ideas!!
Thanks,
Ashley

Have you considered having the coop doors up high near the roof. We did that for our guineas and they absolutely love it. We also placed perches made out of tree limbs in the coop up so they could walk from the perch into the coop. Now that the weather has warmed up they like to spend time nestling down on the run floor when I call them in, but as soon as dusk comes they fly up to the perch and then walk into the coop from there. The top door is the only entry to the coop. We got our six as adults so I think they liked the high door as it made them feel more secure when they first moved in.

I like the idea of having branches for roosting poles!
Thanks for the ideas.
Doesn't anyone have any plans that they make up??? I make up plans for all different kinds of coops and barns all the time lol!
Oh well, post them if you have any.
Thanks!

The coop areas without nest boxes are Guinea designated.

Each will have its own run.

The main Aisle is for my access to feed water and collect eggs.

I created this in Solid Works a solid modeling software .... a high end software that I could download to a machinest and he could actually make the parts with it.

Thanks, I really like this one too. I get on the paint thing on the computer and try different designs all the time.
It will be a while before I can get this build. I will have to save my money up again before I can even think about building it.
