So we had an all out weird situation this morning. My young rooster tried to mate with one of my Indian runner ducks. She got away but right after that my guineas went crazy and started attacking the duck. Chasing her all over the yard and into the woods. Whenever she came back near the coop the guineas would go after her again.

I went out to assess the situation and the guineas then started attacking my ducklings. They have never acted this way before. They weren’t even acting that way until after my rooster mated the duck.

The guineas are now locked in guinea jail so they don’t hurt anyone. What to do?

We’ve had a lot of guinea-duck aggression problems, which I blame on having brooded the guinea keets with ducklings. Can you describe more about your guinea’s history?

They were raised with both chickens and ducklings. They have never been aggressive before. They usually just do their own thing. They are very close to my rooster as both guinea are female and they spend a lot of time with the rooster. My Indian runner was mounted by the rooster and afterwards is when the guineas went crazy and started attacking her. They have never attacked anything before. I have introduced new ducks and chickens to the them and they didn’t attack them either. I’m not sure why they all of a sudden have started attacking this one duck and the ducklings. They don’t bother the other guinea keets or the chicks or chickens.
