We're just starting out and want to free range our guinea. We also want them to have a safe place to relax, eat, drink, away from neighbors dogs. So we made this coop with the intent to not open the door, but left a large area up top in which to fly in and out of with several perches to help them get in and out. My problem is they got out fine, but they seem very lost on how to get back in. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

They need a ground entrance. They also need a secure coop. That coop is wide open for predators to attack at night. It also should be much bigger.

First off,Guineas are a challenge ,be prepared for disappointment and as R2elk says, guineas need a ground entrance, they are walkers most of the time. They'll leave from your high opening but will always forget how to get back in . Not sure where you are at but Great Horned owls are everywhere and they could fly right in and get one of your birds. Also the mesh is to big on your coop, a raccoon could reach in and grab one. Guineas can't see at night, you have to protect them. And FYI, guineas don't relax, they are on edge all the time, it's their survival instinct.

yeah, you're getting sound advice. The thing is, goonies taste good- to just abt everyone. Raccoons, coyotes, owls, hawks, dogs, other predators I don't have. Even if they don't eat the birds, they'll snack on the eggs- snakes, oppossums, weasels-
So the roof has to be secure, not something that can be flipped off, flown through, or climbed in. The holes of the fence need to be small, easy fix with hardware cloth. You want to make sure they can't reach in, bc yhey'll try to pull the bird through the fence. Make sure they can't climb or dig under, and a door that locks tight. Congrats-they're loads of fun!
