my birds came close to home been gone for 2 months think they have gone wild they flew away when i took feed to them went up tp trees but jsut dispear can not not find then now what to do

I think guineas tend to wander. I am a chicken lady, but I had some guineas at one time. They were fenced though. Did you confine them to a coop for a while (with chickens a week or two usually works for me) before you set them free? I think that would probably help them realize where home is and I think they would probably come home to roost at night. Not sure what you can do now if you are unable to catch and confine them. I would keep offering feed when you see them. Maybe someone with more guinea experience will chime in.

Hmmm...i am suprised the flock split up. My birds have always obsessively stayed together (guineas and chickens), except for when a single bird gets ill. I do have 1 older chicken from an earlier flock that sometimes hangs out by herself on my porch, but the rest of the flock is always nearby. Did you get all of them at the same time?

no when they left I got 3 more full grown and they stay on my 17 achers of land think for trying to help

I rase them and kept them all in a house for 2 months and let them free range

You kept them in the house for 2 months? Then put them outside? Did you keep them locked up where you wanted them to roost each night? Just because you kept them in the house doesn’t mean they understand that is “home”.

I put my guineas in their coop for a minimum of 6 weeks. This is the place they are expected to go to bed each night and they do so religiously (except for the occasional female who wants to go sit on a hidden nest) but I don’t even have to herd mine anymore, they go in and roost on their own and wait for me to close the gate.

I doubt you’ll get them back at this point, unless you have a place to confine them outside, like a coop, barn, shelter of some sort. If you don’t give them protection at night, it won’t be long until they’re all taken by a predator.
