These are my new arrivals!! My first guinea fowls. One of the darker ones definitely makes a buck-wheat sound but the other two haven't made a sound yet!
The two darker ones look the same does that mean they are both females -is there visual differences to give clues?? I'm hoping I have a pair & a spare! What does everyone think??

All are girls! Buck wheat buck wheat buck wheat all day & night!! It is hilarious!!
We are just starting to warm up & spring officially starts this weekend. I'm able to get a male guinea but there is a lot of conflicting info- some saying they are monogamous others saying 1male to 3 girls.
What is best?? Do the males fight in the coop like roosters? How many should I get for the 3 girls??

Sorry to rehash and old thread but its good for age. I bought these three girls home in July- so now they are 4 months plus best guess at age in the pic- then only one was calling.
I got a male & i have never seen him do his job but he certainly fusses the girls over to donner & shepards them to the roost at night- he is quite the character!
The question I have is what age do the girls start to lay?? there are no eggs. It is warm
31'c each day & spring is well underway!!
They live in a big guinea tractor so there is no hidey holes so I know there are no eggs.
