On 5/28 one of our guinea hens didn't look right, I didn't see her as my mom fed them since I was at a horse show(normally she feeds AM and I feed PM) She was going away that week and warned me that she didn't look good and may be egg bound so she may not make it(we don't have any vets who will treat chickens around us). The next morning she was dead in the coop. I'm not sure what exactly looked wrong with her, she just said she looked sick. We have been keeping a close eye on everyone and no one else looked sick, then this evening I go in after feeding the horses and one of our Russian orlaf(sp?) is dead in the outside part of the coop, physically she looked fine(my first thought was the neighbors dog had gotten her since he asked if I had seen her) I'm not sure when she died, but my mom had been back there around 8am and everyone looked fine. They don't get locked in the coop, we have a watch dog of a horse who won't let anything that doesn't belong through his pasture. Could it be something contagious? I'm worried that we may lose all of our girls. Also worried about eating the eggs should they be harboring something. Any one have any ideas?
ETA: They just turned a year old on 6/5
