I need advice, this is my first time incubating guinea eggs, today is day 8 and knowing that they've still got about 20 days to go, what is it that I should be looking for? I know with chicks, at day 7 I can tell something is happening, I see some darker spots when I candle the eggs, but I don't know if that is just yolk or a baby.. can someone help?

It is too early to be concerned about the guinea eggs. They are thicker shelled and normally darker shelled than light colored chicken eggs and are harder to see into. You need a really good light to be able to see in them. Because they take 26 to 28 days to hatch, their development is slower than chicken eggs. Ten days for chicken eggs is nearly half way through incubation. You don't reach the halfway point with guinea eggs until day 14.

Thank You, that is kinda what I was thinking, these are for a friend and I want to hopefully hatch her at least 6, I've got 12 in the incubator.. next time I candle I hope to be able to see something. That would be May 12th +/-
