Guinea Keets a Hatchin'!

I have around 50 fertile guinea hen eggs in my incubator and another clutch that is being set on in the coop.
They're beginning to hatch out!

The keet is beginning to break out of its shell.

He's stretching out his foot.

One, two, three toes out and then he rested for awhile before his next attempt at breaking out from his shell.

Here's one wing!

And then another..."But how do I get my head out?"

Push, push, push..."Here I am Momma!"

Stretch...pull...push.

"Ahh...free at last."

After a couple minutes of exploring off to the brooder he goes with his brothers and sisters.

Another exciting Thursday evening on the ranch!

aren't you supposed to take them out of the auto turner before they hatch ?

Isn't today Tuesday? lol

omg maybe im blind, but did you guys get rid of the head scratchy smily!? I loved that one, im always confused! lmao. I mean we got two shruggies now!

I would be worried it would be hard for them to get out. Do you have eggs piled on top of each other, lol, you need a bigger incubator.

Actually, I have several Romaks. I've had very little loss using them, in fact I hatched well over 90% of my guineas and ducks this spring with very little effort on my part. When you're a homesteader that means alot.
