Guinea or Watch Dog/Intruder Alarm?

You know I had guinea hens on our farm when I was young and felt like they were particularly loud. They were especially loud when strangers came around or when predators got within their vacinity. So my question is this, how is it that you have been able to raise guinea in a "backyard" setting without your neighbors getting particularly upset?
