I have seven guinea's and we are rebuilding their pen . I was wondering if I could move them in with my chickens till the pen and run is finished ? I have five hens and two male guinea. I have heard that the male guineas's will kill my roosters is this true?

I am no expert but I think it would be fine. My guineas get in my chicken coop and run all the time and can't figure out the exit. They sometimes spend several nights and days with the chickies.

It all depends on the male guinea and the chicken rooster. You should try it but watch them and check on them for a day or two to make sure. Mine get along but the last rooster i had almost got killed by my guinea rooster

I have 32 Guineas happily living with 40 chickens. There are probably 12 Guinea males and 14 Chicken roos all eating, sleeping, roosting and free ranging.

I have never had a death experience from roos and Guinea cocks getting into it.

Do not get me wrong, they had their squabbles, but they mostly end their strutting in a few seconds.

Well we combined our seven guinea's and the chickens and the ducks yesterday evening and at first it was a rocky road everyone had to figure out their place. The ducks just sit back and watched while the chickens all bristled up and stood their ground and by night fall everyone was good the ducks took the underneath of the coop and the guineas took the boards under the eves of the coop and the chickens kept their house it was all good! Now the building begins!!

I added three fully grown guineas to a flock of 8 chickens last year and it went well for about a week, then the guineas started wreaking havoc. They tore out all the tailfeathers on my chickens and tormented my rooster so much that he couldn't do his "business." The male guineas eventually just bullied everything else in the the coop to the point that all the chickens were crammed in the corner and if they moved they would get bullrushed. I eventually let the guineas out and the crazy weirdos just walked the perimeter of the fence trying to get back in. The keets that were raised with my chicks are now full grown and get along great with my chickens, probably because they think they are chickens. Anyway, good luck and keep a close eye on things now that you have combined them.

I got 6 guineas last sept that were keets. My chickens were about 4 months at that time. I have to say tho that 80% of the time they get along. Some times I will see a fight between a guinea and a rooster but the roo usually runs off. Sometimes they test My games but they do not get anywhere with them. Im going to get some more keets this year and I wonder how that will trun out. Anyways I would say that if you raise the chicks and keets together there should not be much of a problem.

Mine too! those guinea males are tougher than the roosters. When mine fight or have a squabble the guinea ALWAYS wins!

Mine all get along for the most part. I have RIR trio separate and when I let them out of the pen to forage a lil bit...the guineas gang up on him for a lil bit...Then they relax and go about their merry way....The guinea hens lay in the same boxes as my chicken hens...
