Guineas in the vegetable garden?

Thanks for the time you spent telling me your exp.!!!
Thanks very much. Very interesting and helpful. My veg garden just isnt suitable for letting guineas loose in it, supervised or not. So that's helpful in my decision making about whether to get guineas or more hens, though I can keep guineas out of the veg garden. One thing no-one seems to mention is predation by buzzards. We have a permanent breeding pair nearby and this spring they kill two of the hens - too heavy to fly away with them but half eaten on the ground. Are guineas prey for buzzards?

Now I have questions & had to look up "buzzard," bc I thought a buzzard was a vulture. So let's start with where are you?
In the US, vultures are commonly called "buzzards." Elsewhere, a buzzard is a type of hawk, which would make sense, as hawks are predators who will attack guinea. There are a few hawks big enough to fly away with a guinea, but some that can't. A vulture has a 6' wingspan & would, from the dead animals I've seen carted off, have little problem with a guinea.
But Turkey buzzards/vultures are scavengers eating mostly carrion, (though I've heard they'll go for eggs). They do circle my yard daily, bc I live in the middle of 4 fields. But they have never attacked. That said, I'm always with the guinea when they're out of the run.
So which are we discussing? Hawks, yes, they will always be a predator to anything they can get ahold of. They, raccoons, weasels, bobcats, etc. are common predators.
