Some my 6 month old guineas have started nesting. I found one nest yesterday. From what I could tell she was sitting on it during the day but then left it at night. I was wondering what the chances of the eggs hatching would be.

From what I’ve read, they’re not very good parents. This is the first time I’ve had guineas, and mine are under a year old. So I’m not much help. But maybe try incubating if you don’t see them trying to take care of them properly.

From our limited experience, they don't seem to sit regularly enough to hatch the eggs, so we had to incubate...and assist in the hatching. Also, when our broodiest female decided to sit, she was staying on them at night in a not so well hidden place...which is a target for owls, coyotes, and foxes around here. Then again, ours are fairly young. Not sure if they get better about nesting when they get older...but I'm doubting it.
