So one of my hens has (on top of Egg Yolk Peritonitis...which I've been treating) a Vitamin Deficiency, and is unable to walk. She doesn't really eat anything either when I hold it up to her. So I have been feeding her some stuff, which you can find in Appendix II.
I'm hearing a gurgling sound from her though. And twice, five minutes apart, she blew a bubble through the side of her beak. It was big, and it got a thin clear layer of slime on that side of her beak. I checked her tubes and both are clear, and unobstructed. Her mouth and throat are clean as well.
I don't think it's a respritory disease, though I'll keep a lookout for those.
I think I was administering the stuff too far back in her beak, and some of the water went down the wrong pipe...whoops...I'm trying to give her the stuff near the front of her beak now.

So my question is...how do I get the gurgling to stop?
The thing is though, that the gurgling usually resolves itself, and isn't on every breath. It's just getting more frequent.
Do I even need to do anything?
When a hen of mine sounds a bit stuffy, which isn't very often (every 1 to 2 months, I use sand bedding), I hold a small paper towel corner, which was dabbed with Eucalyptus, mint, etc. oil, in front of that hen's nose, for about five minutes total. That works 90% of the time. Would that help?
Would squirting air down her throat help somehow? It sounds crazy, but I figured I'd ask. I'd just use an empty squirt bottle, make sure it has zero water, and squirt.
Below are two appendixes, one on how I know she has a vitamin deficiency, and another on what I've been feeding her.
APPENDIX I: VITAMIN DEFICIENCY
I know that my hen has a vitamin deficiency since, when I came in the morning to let my hens out, this hen was on her side and had a wry neck. She was walking, though less active than she had been say, two weeks before, the day before. I had been giving her a Children's liquid multivitamin, and I've seen rapid progress. The first day her neck wasn't as bent, then she was resting on her shanks and not her side, then her wry neck was completely gone in three days. She's still on her shanks, though. This is day 5. She is also pooping out white and green poo again, an opaque liquidy kind. On day 2 she was pooping out clear green stuff. She has been in a kennel, in the same coop and run as her flockmates the entire time. No signs of diseases on the others.
APPENDIX II: FEEDING AND WATERING
Here's what I've fed her and watered her.
- Hard boiled egg yolk, crumbled into very tiny bits, mixed with water.
- Hard boiled egg white, crumbled into very tiny bits, mixed with water.
She goes through 1 egg a day.
- Purina Organic Starter/Grower feed, mixed with water.
- probably 1.5 ml of that multivitamin, spread out at the start and end of the day.
- Water, fed with syringe.
- Apple Cider Vinegar (crop)
- Colloidal silver, 1/8 tsp (EYP)
Last night I gave her a little bit of spinach that I blended up. This too was mixed with water.

If there's anything you can suggest to help with the gurgling, please leave it below. Your time's appreciated, thanks.
