Hi all,

I am buying some pullets from a guy on Craigslist and he is saying he has a 13 week old Red Brahma hen. I have never heard of a Red brahma, and my internet searches aren't showing me much. Must it be mixed?

This is the only picture I have unfortunately. IMG_20200902_231836_01.jpg

Nothing wrong with buying mixes. Some hybrids are amazing birds.

But I'd be kinda skeptical of the seller if he's trying to sell using inaccurate descriptions. We don't know all the details here but some will try to pass off their barnyard mixes as pure breeds to make a few more bucks.

This.

There is nothing wrong with barnyard mixes. What doesn't sit well with me though are people that make up things and falsely advertise.

Advertise it as what it is. A barnyard mix.

When you say low quality, what do you mean by that? Is it not worth buying.

It's no where near the standard for a Cochin. If your just wanting a pullet for eggs it'd be fine. If your breeding for quality birds that fit the standard, pass on it.
