Gyspy rose my RIR is amazing!

Gyspy Rose will not let any chick pick on another whatsoever. Sunshine my EE gets a little pushy sometimes! Gyspy is right there putting her in her place no matter who she is pushing! Gyspy is like a mother to my brand new Speckeled Sussex I brought home today. She is making sure she is clean and well taken care of and lays under the brooder lamp with her. It's absolutely amazing to see 2.5 week old chicks react to one another. The SS is only 4 days old.

Oh, not to mention that my RIR love me too! She runs to see me and loves to sit in my lap.

Wow, this is a great story! My RIR is a beauty, but she is a little shy. She wants to sit beside me when I am visiting in the coop, but very rarely on my lap and then only for a short time. She will probably make a great mother some day.

My 3-week-old RIR--Rosie--is my favorite too, she is so friendly and curious. As soon as she sees me she flies towards me and will jump onto my hand (as seen in my avatar

) and try to climb up onto my shoulder. She's the biggest out of my three chicks but very gentle and mellow.
