60 out of 60 eggs.....Wellsummer, RIR and a few WSx's.

I have 74 hatch out Monday. Hope I am as blessed on that hatching.

Great job!! Were these eggs from your own birds? I have very very rarely had any shipped eggs hatch 100%. Way to go!

The Ws & Wsx's were my own...The RIR's I bought at an auction.

I have a friend who used to raise Ostriches and Emu's...He gave me one of his NatureForms Incubatots....I modified the trays with egg cartons and rigged up a hatching tray.....It has certainly been a blessing getting a bator of that caliber....That added to prayer has made the hatches successful.

We are going to need to see pictures of your bator and all those chicks.
Your wsx's what did you cross them with? I have a welsummer rooster in with barred rock hens, I have eggs under a few hens and have some in my bator. I cant wait to see what we get from the cross. The one hen is at day 20 today

she hatches some of them.

I have some hens that are 1/2 Delaware & 1/2 New Hampshire that were running in my big yard with the WS's. I really like those hens and have some delawares that I plan on putting under a RIR rooster. They are good layers and really good yard birds.

I am from Oklahoma also. Where are you from?

They are turning out white like the delawares with some having dark stripes on their back. What color are your BR x WS chicks turning out?

62 of my 76 hatch set to hatch today(07-06) have hatched so far and many of the rest are peeping. Then I have another 60 or so to hatch out next week. I am having a blast hatching them but have definitely overrun myself.
I am almost done with my growing yard which will be a pen 100'-0 x 100'-0+. I have almost 60 RIR, WS & BR just about ready to leave the brooder yard and go to that yard. By that time I will have another 60+/- ready for the brooder yard.
Should have some nice young poultry both to keep and sell by late fall.
