Six weeks old. Guesses as to sex, breed cross? All seem to carry their tails upright like hens except one red who doesn't have a tail yet. All feathered the same time. Barnyard crosses; I do suspect one of the roosters had lacing gene as several of mine have lacing. The one black has shimmering turquoise highlights in the feathers. Sorry, not much for legs as they were sleeping together. Here you go!

And two of my favorite shots that are simply artistic...

I am not sure about breed, but they sure are pretty. The white with black speckles are especially nice. One of them looks like a Barred Plymouth Rock (Dark one with barring or horizontal stripes.)

Thanks. I think you are a neighbor...I'm in Zeeland. A farmer in Borculo hatches out all his barnyard eggs every spring. Was hard to choose only eight from the 150 chicks he had at the time, but I was going for colors and hens, although if I have a few roosters I won't complain :)

Your blue chicken looks some Andalusian to me. I say 'some' because my Andalusians have the same coloring but have big, beautiful brown eyes. Mine also have large single combs.

white and black one and the dark blue head beside him with the pea comb are roosters

Thanks! The ones I would like to be roosters (to cross with my others) seem to be. I was pretty sure on the blue one and the black one (they are the same ones in all the pics) and the speckled one just started to get some comb stuff going on. But my six EE hens looked like that at this age, too. Guess I'll find out soon enough! The other five seem to be hens. I didn't want roosters at first, but I like the way they will take care of the flock, and hopefully will keep my girls from mixing with the neighbor's flock when I eventually let them out.
