I've been keeping chickens since the beginning of the year. My flock has doubled since then. Today, I noticed the insides of one of my chickens were hanging out. I watched her for a while and noticed she wasn't really moving properly and struggling. Decided the best thing would be to despatch her.
Now, I could have probably nursed her back to heath, but my flock are for eggs and I've always said, if they are doing something productive, I'll get rid of them. Plus I didn't want the poor thing to suffer.
I decided to use the broomstick method. It was pretty easy and probably the best method for myself and the chicken.
