You did do the right thing.

Sorry for your loss. You did the right thing, even though it was painfully hard.

I completely understand where your coming from. We've (my husband) had to put 2 goats down in this last 2 weeks. One of them was our very first goat we got 2 years ago, he had UC. I bawled so hard and so long. I know we made the right decision and so did you. Take comfort in knowing you ended your poor girls suffering

I know exactly how you feel.

I drove 14 hours, spent $300 to pick up a wonderful Show Winning Beautiful Pygmy Buck last month.

I fell in love with him. Sooo cute. My goats are more than just animals, they are pets.

A few days ago I was feeding, and noticed he hadn't eaten his morning breakfast. I peeked inside his house and he was rasping, and weak, and his eyes and nose were snotty. He could barely walk, but he drank some gatoraid, and I gave him a shot of Pen One which was all I had. Had to leave for work. Next morning, I check on him. He couldn't stand. I dragged him on a tarp to the barn, and put him in a warm stall. Went to pick up some Expensive Medicine about 45 minutes away. Got back home to find him dead.

I am so heartbroken. He went from healthy to dead in just a day or two. He was strong and healthy, and as sweet and wild as they come. It has really dampened my excitment about goats, and slowed up my breeding plans. I am just so upset, and in shock. I didn't see it coming at all. My poor little baby. He was so young, and strong. Now I fear for my other goats, which seem to timid and weak compared to him.

The reality of the situation really hit me hard last night. I think I was still in shock on Saturday and I was distracted by the poultry show I attended. She'll be missed.

I couldn't put her down myself because she kept looking at me. Very unnerving. It was a learning experience for sure, so that's a positive.
