half blind silkie chick?!

i have a little ~5 day old silkie chick and when i went down to check on them i noticed she would not open one of her eyes. why do you think it is like this? her other eye is fine and she is getting around fine; running around the bin, eating, drinking, etc

Check and see if a warm water cleaning helps. Also, check for feathers in her eye, which is an issue we had with one of our Silkie babies.

We just got a batch of new chicks three days ago and one of our Ameracauna pullets has the exact same problem....same eye even. She is acting fine other than the closed eye. If you find out a cure, please let me know!

I went down a sec ago and she is fine now. I think she either had something in it or poked it

I am certainly too new to be giving advice but I too have silkies and I find at that age they tend to poke each other in the eye. I have seen it time and time again. I would try as the other poster advised putting a warm wet something over the eye and gently wiping it. Good luck keep us posted.
