Whoopi mentioned this on The View today:

she asked if the gal co-hosting washed her hands everytime she goes to the bathroom, the response "yes". Then she asked her if she used a nail brush, the response "no". Then Whoopi went on to tell her that think about all the door handles, people's hands, money, toilet handles, faucets, grocery buggies, etc. we all touch constantly, we wash our hands but rarely use a nail brush to get the bacteria that's under our fingernails. So next time you stick your fingers in your mouth, think about the bacteria you missed when you washed your hands.

I thought now she's going to turn the poor nail biter gal into a germ-o-phob!!!!
