Hame made feed mix??

Sorry if this has been covered but I could not find the thread. I remember reading something about feeding home made grains, oats etc.. I know there are probably many variations but does any one have a basic "recipe"? My neighbor would like to avoind using pre bagged layer feed and wants to try and price out making her own. Anyone have any suggestions?
