hand raised hen do i need to teach her to use the roost pole????

do i need to teach her to use the roost pole or do they know to do that? i just went outside and its dark and she i asleep and on the ground

what should i do??

When first put out in the coop or a new coop they will often sleep on the ground for awhile. Some people put them on the roosts every night. I just leave mine. They eventually start roosting on their own so long as your roosts are the right size and height.

how do you know what the right highth is?

I have mine at difrent heights and at the start they used to sleep on the ground but after a while they started to roost higher and higher
