Any ideas how to hang a 1 gallon plastic waterer (smooth top). Will this be large enough for two chickens-a 3 gallon just seems too large. I plan to get a second one so I can swap them out when the weather gets cold.
Thanks!

I have the same set up inside and out so the girls have options! The only thing I will add is a cover for the waterer so they don't go for a swim. Hope that helps - welcome aboard.

I can't answer how to hang it, because I have the same kind, and haven't figured out a good way yet......

but yes, that's big enough for 2 birds. I have a 1 gallon for 5 of my girls outside and I only have to refill it every other day to three days.

I use the 1 gallon for my 11 chicks - 9 weeks old. I do have a backup bowl of water just in case since it is so hot here right now. The temps are in the middle 90's right now and I want to make sure they don't run out of water. I don't think you will have a problem but I would keep a close eye on it in really hot weather. I change mine at least once a day. Also mine leaks some times and I found it almost empty yesterday. I am going to make one to have an extra one when I build an additional run in the next few weeks, I am not impressed with what I have seen at the pet stores.

One gallon is plently large for 2 chickens. Do you have to have it hanging? If space isn't an issue (i.e. if you have enough space for one on the floor) I could post a picture of how I'm using an enclosed one gallon waterer on bricks.
