Hanging food/treats in the coop ?

We had one of those chick treat logs hanging in the coop, once the chicks figured out it was food (took them about a week) they devoured it in 3 days.
So I am wondering what others use for hanging treats/food in the coop ? We plan on impaling a mangels beet on a nail once we have them to harvest by fall, but wondering if there are other treats that can be offered this way ?

Here are mine tearing up some broccoli. I clipped it onto the side of the brooder. Yes, it took days before they were brave enough to try it!
