So this was hanging out of my duck. Is this normal and would it be safe to say this is a drake.

That is what I refer to as a dinkel. If it was hanging out and not going back in you need to look at "phallus prostration"

If you just happened to catch it before it went back in, then no worries. Otherwise, he needs, cleaning, ointment and seperation from hens for 3 months.
