Happy Chickens

Is it just me? When my chickens look like they’re happy their tails seem to get larger and then they ‘wag’ their tails. Instead of a thin tail, the tail gets wider.

The only tail 'wagging' I've noticed is right after a bird is mated.....
...or after a good dust bath.
I used to wish my dog would purr

Don’t know about tails but a few of mine blush if you pick them up and scratch them.
