I am so excited, I will have a side for the laying hens and a side for my bantams..PLUS I will have lots of storage space, and pens that will allow me to raise chicks out there (If I chose to, may do the house raising for their first couple weeks then out to the coop)
Here's my floor plan so far....my run areas will be made to be very easy to expand on to. I will also have room off to the sides (inside) that I can make seperate smaller coop area and outside runs, for say putting a roo and hen together..or whatever LOL

Can't wait to see pics of the construction and final result!

I need to live vicariously through those of you who aren't waiting for snow to melt to work on their coops!

We have a shed exactly like the one behind you're making a coop out of...it's like 10' by 14' that's what we're using. We're going to build a platform on skids, that way we can move it wherever we want it. We always always have a breeze blowing up our little hill, so I don't think summer will be a problem. And we're insulating and providing plenty of ventilation,as can be seen by all the black ovals, which will be windows.

I'm really excited. It's been so rainy and nasty here the ground is mush.
