i had a peacock trying to hatch for 2 days .i had to help it out of its shell .which is no easy task. his feet were bent and crooked .he could not stand .well i taped his legs the best i could for 24 hours and took off the tape and it did 1 leg great but one is still a little crooked .he could then walk .hard step number 2 done.i could not get him to drink ar eat so after about another 24 hours i put in a bay chick with it and in 2 hours it was eating .problem number 3 solved .he is now a week old and doing just great .we named it miracle.
i had 4 eggs but only one lived .this has been the hardest time iv ever had with my chickens ducks geese and peacocks.but it is all worth it to watch them grow up .

awww I'm glad Miracle made it. I hope you have more success next time.
Reading your post gave me questions.
1. What kind of tape did you use?
2. What is a bay chick? Will any chick do?

i used duct tape .to get it off you have to use warm water to loosen the tape .i meant a baby chick .i used about a 2 week old chick.
