Happy Hen Day ladies.

Our first chicks are now one year old today. Now that they are no longer pullets, I thought our BR would be laying darker eggs. Here are two of her eggs with a store bought egg.

The dark one is a large store egg. The long skinny one in front is her first egg (she is a bantam). The other egg is the one she laid today. Will she lay darker eggs, or is she just a mutant? BTW we celebrated Hen Day with raisins. Do you have any special ways to celebrate?

I don't know anything about banties, just wanted to wish your pullets a happy hen day.
My 2 Australorps and 1 Buff Orp celebrate theirs on July 1.
I live in Canada and there are going to be fireworks, barbeques, parties and parades!
Did you do anything special?
(Edit: Other than the raisins, I mean.)
