Happy New Years And guess what I got this morning?

Yup, My first egg, my girls are Buff Orpingtons 32 weeks old today! It's perfectly shaped, nice and clean, right in the nest, just on the small size. Now I am finally part of the egg club..LOL
So now does anyone eat their first small egg?

My first gee from a silky was so small it was too cute to crack so I blew it out and ate the yolk!

Yup I couldn't believe it and New Years Day to boot!
It is so cute I sure hate to crack it! How does one blow out an egg?

you can poke a hole in one end and extract it with syringe.or poke hole in each end and BLOW innards out.then rinse , I used bleach mix.the let dry

My rir's blessed me this morning also with my first eggs but I gave mine to my friend who is very ill, I thought she might like that since she will not be with us to enjoy many more, They lay small eggs at first and they will get bigger over time.
I made a lovely nesting box and they didn't use it, go figure,

I got my first eggs yesterday too, what an excellent omen for the year to come. Now i just gotta step up my coop production, cause i can't keep going into the neighbors yard to fetch my eggs.
