Hello everyone!
I am not entirely new to chickens, but haven’t had any for several years. My new flock is a bit of a mash-up as there were no other chickens available to me within about 150 miles.
I ended up traveling to a Tractor Supply in an adjacent city to pick up these chicks. Apparently they have a 4 chick minimum per purchase which I learned after asking for three (I’m getting some ladies back from my last flock). I suppose as a compromise, the associate gave me three healthy chicks and one individual who only made it about 2 hours after we were back home. Sad times, and I can’t say it wasn’t intentional.
Either way, these 3 ladies (straight run
) all seem to be super healthy. The person who snagged them for me wasn’t the nicest and seemed to be winging it a bit (as it were), so part of what prompted my joining the community is seeing if anyone can confirm these breed varieties.
My introductory thread seems as good a place as any for thoughts, but please let me know if I should move this thread elsewhere. Thanks in advance!
I was told these are a Barred Brahman, a Cochin and a Hamburg of some variety, respectively.
