I enjoy checking backyard chickens to find out what people do for different issues with their chickens to help me with mine I have 13 hens and one little Banti rooster. I have been raising chickens for 10 years now I’ve tried several different breeds have tried going to the vet when I’ve had issues and now I just check to see what other people do when they’re chickens get sick have been able to help a lot of my chickens and sometimes not.I am a hairdresser and I always have chicken stories for my clients they just love hearing what’s going out on the farm. A month ago I discovered one of my chickens had bumble foot I did research wasn’t sure what to do watched YouTube finally made my decision ended up doing surgery on my hen she did well I don’t know who was more Trumatic for her or me. Hoping I never have to do that again . Try not to name my chickens but each one has their own personality and no each one there’s nothing like sitting in the afternoon and just watching what they’re doing how they’re chasing bugs and having a good time .

Greetings Chickfriendly, Welcome to BYC!
With chickens...when there isn't trauma, there's always some drama!:gig

:welcome

Sounds like you're getting a good intro to all things chicken :D The first time I had to do bumble foot surgery it was much more traumatic for me than the hen. The second and third one went much easier for everyone (hoping you can stop at one).

Best of luck to you, thanks for joining us!
