(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I just got my first flock this year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 3 hens
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Giant Blue cochins and 1 Partridge Cochin
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love that they like to lay on my hammock with me. It's so cute
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love baking, reading, and playing video games.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I share a house with my 3 best friends. One of them and I decided to get chickens together. We also have 4 cats! We live in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, USA so I'm excited to see how our first winter with the girls is going to go.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Before we even finally decided to get chickens I have been researching everything I can think of at all hours of the day about chickens. BYC always has the most consistent information and the community seems to friendly

Of my many breeds I have, Cochins are by far my favorite! Right now, I have 2 Partridges and 1 Buff full-sized girls (who are all super friendly and curious); and four Bantam Cochins (a Barred, a Red Frizzle, a dark Blue hen and a light Blue rooster).

Mine successfully survive frigid, windy winters here in North Central Iowa, and I met my first Cochins in Thunder Bay, Ontario, so your girls will probably do fine in Mpls. -- where I lived for a few years and thought I would freeze to death!
