why is it so hard to find std blk cochin eggs, or adults? nobody around me has this breed. it is very hard to find on byc, ebay, and egg bid. is it something about this breed that turns people off to it or what? please post what other hard to find breed there are.

I have a simular problem. I want to find show quality silver sebrights. For some reason there isn't much. I can find rare breeds like barnevelders faster and easier. I wonder why.

I prefer rare breeds, though. I like to have birds that aren't common... even if it just in my region. ya know?

i have been looking for lg std blk cochins for the past 2 years. even though i do have 2 of them already, i want more. i don't particularly care for the bantam size, even though i do have 4 bantam of different colors, i think they are too fru-fru. i like the way the blk feathers shimmer and they seem to be the most docile of all the colors. nobody breeds them except hatcheries. it is just so frustrating.

I saw standard black cochins for sale on Craig's list here in Phoenix not long ago.

They are around....

Sounds to me as soon as you do find some... you should breed them. eh? I'm a bit shocked... I thought cochins were one of those breeds that alot of people had.

Oh that is easy... as a fellow ebay hatching egg seller, I'll tell you this... click the "ask seller question" and see if you can pay now and have them ship when spring arrives. They probrably won't mind. No harm in asking! I do it for people and have asked other breeders to do it for me. I'd say they would.
