Has any one been to the Wicked Chicken Auction in Clayton NC

I was there this past Sat. 2/19. Yes there were Muscovies and Calls. The Muscovies were sold as pairs ...hens...drakes. They were black and white and sold quick. The Calls were all white drakes and also sold real quick. I only stayed 1 1/2 hours and there was still plenty of boxes to go up so there could hae been more.
The auction site is clean and nice and family friendly. I recommend it. I may go this Sun. with some chickens I need to sell. I did not see anything that did not sell. So that was encouraging to me. I have listings on CL and it is slow.... Get there early if you want a seat or you will be standing.

If I can ever get my girls laying again, I might be interested in some trades to change up some bloodlines too.

I have muscovies as well.

I did not see mallards...but I did not stay for the whole thing. I really just went there to check it all out. I didn't even buy anything....not that I didn't want to.

I have had several e-mails asking me to go- I have been thinking about it- We have about 20 birds that we dont need anymore, and about 30 chicks- I know to sell -they sell by the box, so ever how many you put in the box sells for one bid.

If there are 2 birds in the box and someone bids $10...total is $20. If you don't sell you have to pay $1. If you sell I am 90% sure its 20% comm. So on $20, you pay $4 .
There were boxes of chicks...went for $2.50 a chick X 13 =$32.50 ect....

IMO if you are selling hens...they sold better in singles $8-$10 each. Games were hot. $20 + a pair. I got very educated there. I had my kids keeping track of prices, it was fun.

Start saving your cardboard boxes up.
