Has anyone bought eggs from Gipsy Hen hatchery

I am thinking of buying some bantam ameraucana hatching eggs and I want wheaten.....Gipsy hen is the only place with bantam wheaten ameraucana eggs. I had never heard of them until now so I want to make sure they are good. I see they are NPIP certified so that's good. Has anyone had eggs from them, if so how was your hatch rate? Were your chicks healthy?

I would like to know as well. Because they have silver in the standard Ameraucanas. Or I may have to make a vacation out of going to buy chicks >.<. I believe its an 11hr drive for me to get there.

Ouch that's a long drive, I believe they would ship to you. It was seriously the only place with bantam wheaten ameraucanas. Are silvers white or are they a different color

Silvers are silver duckwing I believe. All tho there is a discusion here Ameraucana Breeders Club about what it should look like.

It is a recognized color. The Ameraucana Alliance. This site has all the info and I have an APA book on hand as well. It does seam that the silver color can come from a few different gen combos. The males from three of those can look very similar but its the females that differ. At lest that's what I get from looking at Chicken Quest.

For Ameraucanas the hard to find colors are Brown Red, normal Wheaten, and Silver.

Very hard to find! I have seen no breeders with brown red and only 1 with wheaten (which is my absolute favorite )
